Ant Genus

lasius

The Lasius Genus is thought to have about 130 ant species. Lasius ants tend to be more nocturnal but are still awake during the day. Lucky for us they are not harmful to humans because they have weak jaws. Lasius are moisture ants so they prefer to hey build their nests in the moist ground next to or under rocks or dead wood. They generally have small workers and males but have decently large queens, this makes queen hunting much easier!
